About Me

My name is Tony Ballas and I have been interested in photography for many years and have had some experience in with film photography, but couldn’t really get serious about photography until around 2010. I took a couple introductory courses at Anne Arundel Community College, along with reading a lot of articles on the topic. For a while, I hung out with a sort of mentor friend that is a freelance photographer, Joe Heimbach. The biggest thing I think he taught me was to keep striving towards your goals.

I started taking some classes at the NewYork Institute of Photography. It has been a struggle to continue taking these classes because of financial reasons. I find it is a good school and I continue to read as much as I can, and where ever I can, about photography and the equipment to complete our task of taking great photographs.

This “About Me” page is a work in progress!
